The history behind the name Our way of commemorating the legendary, iconic and respected Sycamore Gap tree. More than just a tree, this natural symbol of Northumberland stood strong and tall on our favourite stretch of Hadrian's Wall for over 150 years, until it was purposely felled in late summer of 2023. It felt only right that we keep the name alive through our small-batch ethical pieces, each and every one of which are inspired from our deep-rooted love for Northumberland. Nestled in the foothills of the Cheviot Hills on the edge of Northumberland National Park, Wooler is the perfect wild spot to embrace the special middle-of-nowhere feeling. A tiny, traditional market town, there is a homely sense of community and comforting friendliness. The stone-built buildings add a sense of old-world, with hints of times before us to be seen. A great homage of the rural, farming societies we are supporting with our British-made woollies.
